I’ve been sitting on comic ideas for a while now, thinking I’d come up with some brilliant idea to smoosh them all together in a long project. But the brilliant idea never came. I just kept waiting until I got the bug.
It feels like a whole season passed me by sitting and waiting. I got bored. I counted the blossoms on the rose bush out front. I set out a blanket and read. I watched all the baby geese in Echo Park grow from sweet yellow puffs into hissing teens. Spring sprung, and I crumpled under the pressure I put on myself to capture it.
But it’s summer now. It’s time to wake up and smell the jasmine.
The bug finally bit me on a plane ride to New York for the weekend.
As always, thanks for reading. If you like what you see here today, please consider gassing me up with a little heart or sharing The Poop Scoop with a pal. I hope you all get your butts to the park for a sizzle soon.
This is such a sensory feast!! And a reminder to notice and enjoy the little things…
I love this and Scooter loves recognition of the joy of sniffing other dogs.
